Naomi Fisher is the current resident artist in the Everglades AIRIE program. She is here researching and exploring the Everglades as the basis of a new project. As part of her residency, Fisher is hosting a one night only event screening videos that were produced during recent residency based projects at Oleta State Park, Miami (2009); Myakka State Park, Sarasota (2010); Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami (2011). Fisher has been working collaboratively with a longstanding group of dancers and actors to develop structures, concepts, and narratives that culminated in performances and these distinct video artworks.
This is a truly unique opportunity to experience Naomi’s work from within Everglades National Park. Campfire themed refreshments will be served. Guests are encouraged to camp at Long Pine Key following the event.
