Champagne Reception at The Study
VIP ticket holders are invited for a tour of Dr. David Fairchild’s Laboratory and Study, the installation by conceptual American artist Mark Dion that re-imagines the laboratory of the ever inquisitive South Florida pioneer, the late Dr Fairchild and takes visitors back in time. Some of the earliest meetings to promote the Everglades as a National Park were held at The Kampong. In 1929, as the first president of the Tropical Everglades Park Association, Fairchild helped usher in a new era of the tropical wetland.

Music by eclectic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Venuti. Performance by Agile Rascal Bicycle Touring Theatre, whose work at the intersection of art and bike culture uses theatre to foster a dialogue about the shifting physical and cultural landscape of our country. This original production is being created during the group’s January 2019 residence in the Everglades. With costumes, sets and storylines influenced by the epic River of Grass, the play is guaranteed to be uniquely Floridian.
