Artists in Residence in Everglades, AIRIE, is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for people of all abilities. AIRIE works in partnership with Everglades National Park to provide its services. Please inquire at the Visitor Services desk at the Ernest F. Coe Visitors Center for any assistance you may require when visiting the AIRIE Nest Gallery.

Everglades National Park strives to make the park accessible to everyone. The park offers a variety of accessible facilities, services and programs including back country camping, front country camping, boat tours, and assistive learning devices. The following pages will provide guidance on accessibility throughout the park.

AIRIE offers complimentary public admission to the AIRIE Nest Gallery to all persons. Some events, tours or other activities may incur an additional admission or participation cost.

Getting here

The AIRIE Nest Gallery is located inside the Ernest F. Coe Visitors Center at 40001 SR 9336, Homestead, FL 33034, inside Everglades National Park. The parking lot is directly adjacent to the Visitors Center, and includes wheelchair-accessible parking. Access to the building is through a wooden boardwalk with push-to-open doors at the entrance.

Large Print

Large-print versions of exhibition wall labels are available at the Visitor Services desk in the Lobby.

Seating Accommodations

There is limited seating throughout the Visitors Center. Lightweight, portable gallery stools are available free of charge. Please inquire at the Visitor Services desk for availability.

Service Animals

Service animals on a leash and under their owner’s control are welcome at the AIRIE Nest Gallery and AIRIE events unless otherwise noted in program materials.

For the safety and well-being of our artists, community and collaborators, AIRIE has postponed all residency activity and programming in the Everglades. The AIRIE Nest Gallery inside the Ernest F. Coe Visitors Center is closed, as is the main entrance to Everglades National Park, until further notice.

The AIRIE Application for 2021 residencies has been postponed. The application window and new deadline will be announced shortly.
