AIRIE COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends of AIRIE,

For the safety and well-being of our artists, community and collaborators, effective immediately we are postponing the remainder AIRIE’s, April, May and June artist residencies in the Everglades along with all AIRIE programming during these months. The AIRIE Nest Gallery inside the Ernest F. Coe Visitors Center is closed, as is the main entrance to Everglades National Park, until further notice.

After much thought, we have also decided to postpone the opening of the AIRIE application for 2021 residencies. The application window, and new deadline, will be announced at a later date.

We know that you share our concerns during these uncertain times with the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and appreciate your understanding and support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back as the current situation improves and will be working with our 2020 artist Fellows who have been affected by the cancellations.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]

We encourage artists seeking information, resources and relief assistance during this difficult time to visit the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs website, and the comprehensive list of resources for artists complied by the NEA, Creative Capital, Artist Thrive and NYFA.

We wish you all good health.
