On July 25th, we hosted our first AIRIE Asks at Soho House's new Miami Pool House. This discussion featured Sydney Maubert, Artist, Architect, and June 2023 Fellow, and Atéha Bailly, singer-songwriter, producer, and July 2023 Fellow as they reflected on their time in residency at Everglades National Park.
Both Maubert and Bailly discussed their unique approach to using their disciplines to not only acknowledge the heritages of communities in this landscape but through their practices bring contemporary conventions to communicate these histories in their disciplines. This conversation was moderated by poet and writer Arsimmer McCoy, AIRIE Residency Coordinator. Cornelius Tulloch, AIRIE Artistic Director, was an engaging dialogue and experience for all who joined us.
