Explore water advocacy and rethinking environmental design systems for preservation in the Everglades with Two-Spirit poet, artist, and environmentalist Reverend Houston Cypress (Otter Clan of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida), activist and Seminole dugout canoe carver Daniel Tommie (Seminole Tribe of Florida), and Betty Osceola (Panther Clan of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida).
Cypress, Tommie, and Osceola have dedicated their lives to fore fronting learnings from the Ancestral past. Cypress and Osceola are important consulting stakeholders and voices to be heard in connection to all themes relevant in the Triennial installation “Ebb + Flow,” which also features Tommie’s story.
The presentation will be followed by a conversation with the group, Zarith Pineda, Founder & Executive Director of New York–based organization Territorial Empathy and Triennial co-curator Alexandra Cunningham Cameron.
